Progress continues

Eric's stool output continues to drop. They reduced his stool replacements to .5 to 1 and diluted it by half. So now in addition to his normal IV nutrition he only gets a half ml of .45% Saline for each gram his diapers weighed.

Yesterday he received another small transfusion of immunoglobulins. This is something they did once in Omaha. It is just replacing what was lost due to his severe diarrhea.

They are considering reintroducing him to food as early as next week. It will probably be an extremely small amount delivered continuously via tube directly to his stomach or small intestine. The doctor thinks very small amounts will help his intestines heal.

Eric is much less puffy today. He weighed 10.6lbs this morning so I think he still has some extra water weight.
