Maintaining status

Eric is still on the biPAP machine. His blood tests are good and show his breathing is effective, but the machine makes it easier for him and since he was just really sick, they want him to take it easy.

He received a transfusion of blood and some extra steriods today to help him along. I think both of these disqualify him from competing in this year's Tour de France. They also have been laying him on his stomach which for some reason makes him seem more comfortable.

They are going to do surgery on Tuesday to replace his central line. They will have to put him on the ventilator for the surgery. The doctor said if he seems like he is working hard to breath between now and then, they will just put him on the ventilator earlier, rather than letting struggle.
