Eric really turned around this afternoon and is doing much better. He is still on the oscillatory ventilator, but his blood pressure is normal and they were able to stop the dopamine and epinephrine. His blood oxygen is staying up and CO2 levels down. He got a large dose of steroids today which seems to have been what helped him over the peak.
Now they are working on trying to get some of the extra fluid of of him. They had to pump him full of fluids to keep his blood pressure up. A lot of it leaked from his bloodstream into his tissues and caused him to swell. He is on a diaretic called bumex.
