cuddling he can get now that he isn't hooked up to the ventilator.
This morning he had a slight fever and elevated heartrate. His white
blood cell count was high (even for him). The doctors are pretty sure
it is from a bacterial infection, but haven't been able to locate it.
These infections are pretty common for patients in BMT recovery and we
are lucky Eric has not had more. He is doing much better already and
is on enough antibiotics now to take care of pretty much anything.
Eric didn't need a platelet transfusion today. He has been getting
them daily, but his level didn't drop as much yesterday. It is another
huge milestone once his bone marrow can grow enough platelets to
consistently keep up. It sounds like we may be close.
Nikki's sister, Courtney, is in town visiting. We all went out to eat
at a place called the Golden Lamb. It has been in operation for over
200 years. I love old restaurants. This one has served 10 different
Presidents. It was good. I ate way too much.
